Saturday is Here - Tips & Thoughts

Farewell Frankel, the latest greatest horse runs his last race today, will the going defeat him where all other things can't. I don't think so, and now that he is assured of running I foresee another victory against his name.  Is he the greatest, personally I'm in the no camp, he's good yes, he's remarkable yes, but has he really had any class opposition to go against, I don't think so. Lets hop he gets home safely and he he has a long and successful time at frolicking with all those lady horses.

A couple of yards having mixed results at the moment. Unsure about Donald McCain's horses, don't seen 100% at the moment, and Emma Lavelle/Twiston-Davies have question marks, on the opposite side Tim Vaughan and Lucinda Russell seem quite happy to send their horses around the country with confidence.  Following favourites today? The stats in chases at Kelso are with you.

Football took a few steps backwards this weekend, with a step back to the 80's. what shocked me about the Serbia incident, wasn't so much the fans behaviours, that unfortunately was expected, but the reaction of the Serbian coaches followed by the views of the Serbian FA were remarkable, FIFA really need to sort this out. And as for the Leeds match last night, what were we watching the worse part of our came back in glorious colour and HD. This was not helped either by 2 experienced managers who really should have known better.  The internationals were not that much to write home about, Wales got beat, again, Scotland were rubbish, again, and England were still half asleep from their uppers and downers fuelled night the night before!

A full programme of domestic games back on today, some value may be found with Spurs and Reading, and Schalke, all have outside chances of a result and following the midweek internationals who knows what will happen. My local side Dunfermline, continue to go well  though they do have a difficult game against Morton today, but by all accounts no major injury concerns and squad in good order.

Can't finish without saying WOW to Felix Baumgarter, extraordinary,  spectacular and utterly amazing, finished off with a cool landing. Hats off to him, and was it true that he managed to find Chris Waddles ball from his 1990 World Cup penalty!!!!

Swansea v Wigan - Both teams need a win, both teams know where the net is, both teams know how to concede. So goals guaranteed (cue 0-0!!).  Moveable trade, scalp some U1.5 & 0-0 for some insurance. look out for some red cards.
