Sunday's Trades, Bets and Lays

Just a quick couple of lines. Yesterdays choices came up trumps with a couple of decent results coming in. Some decent games yesterday with results that shook up the top f the leagues again.  Arsenal seem to be going well but can they last the pace?  My believe is that the champions will be a team in blue, and I'm still happy that lay of Man Utd finishing top 4.

Liverpool travel to Sunderland, an important game for both sides with the Black Cats needing to re-establish some pride, and the Scousers needing a result to maintain their challenge.  Going for a Liverpool win, but by a small small margin.

Some sedate racing today but some decent stuff over the water. Anyway have a good day.

Saturday's Trades, Tips and Lays

Busy day on the staple sporting front, with plenty of football and racing about.  Quite a few selections below so just pick and mix as you see fit.

Few words of congratulations should be given to Ben Ainslie and his sailing crew for the heroics from mid-week. In any sport to come from 1-8 down to win 9-8 is outstanding, but especially in a multi million dollar sport, where you need to rely on your team mates and have utmost faith in you ability, well done.  But how bitter a blow it must have been for the Kiwis, talk about self confidence taking a kicking.

Several things made me angry this week, including Stephen Lee's continuing pleading of his innocence. I'm sorry but you don't get banned for 12yrs just because somebody doesn't like you.he got found guilty, end of story! I understand he sacked 3 legal teams and represented himself and then complains he wouldn't have got the ban if he had legal representation!!  He then bleated on about having a family to support, well I'm sorry he should have thought about that beforehand, he will know have to join the rest of us working for every penny, instead of wasting his talent on a sport he claims to have loved.  Sport has no place for cheats, and his actions where an insult the game and his fellow players.

In the football, I can't say I'm sorry to see Sunderland looking for a new manager, as you may have gathered in previous posts, i wasn't exactly a big fan of the buffoon. Whoever goes in will have a big team rebuilding job to do, so good luck.  I'm just finishing Bobby Robson's Auto biography, and the one message he constantly taught was 'respect', not just for your team mates, but the club, the fans, the game and yourself. Some people could learn an awful lot from that.

Following Man Utd's lucky win over Liverpool I'm still quite happy with my decision to lay them finishing in the top 4. I think Moyes is going to struggle to put together consistent performances that will drive the team forward, he may need a year or two to mould the team his way, as well as getting a decent midfield play maker in. Arsenal seem to be clicking well, and Jose may have found the key again to his team, at the moment my money is on a blue team winning the league.

Today's racing see's the cavalry charge that is the Cambridgeshire, so a Lay the Field tarde for me with a possible saver on Red Avenger and King George River.  In the Sun Chariot Sky lantern gets my vote.

Whatever you do, have fun and don't life too seriously

Sunday Trades, Bets & Lays

A good days football in store today, with a the clubs in European action back to domestic business today. The 1st Manchester derby of the season kicks off, and will be interesting to see if City can get out of the mediocre rut they have found themselves in.  There were signs in the week that something was starting to click, in addition they also have a couple of attacking options on the comeback trail.  In the red camp Rooney is on form and seems to have put the dummy away back in.  I like Davie Moyes, but I am querying the midfield options he uses. My £2 would be on both teams to score with City just edging it.

Liverpool played 4 central defenders yesterday, and paid the price.  Rodgers is getting slated for it, but it would appear that Agger was not 100% so some cover was needed, and the fault of the tea seems to have been the lack of willing of the full backs to get forward. The forward line were too honest for their own good, and i think most fans were expecting this result.  Wednesdays tie against United sees the next chapter in the life of Suarez, he will be a welcome addition to help fill the hole left by Coutinino.  The danger is that if Liverpool are not careful it is possible that he will be left to carry the team again this season.  looks also like that Di Canio ay be losing the last of whatever good will is flying around up North, anchored at the base of the league, making public his dis-pleasure with the squad, and now facing up to the fans. The bookies also seem to agree with him at evens to go.

Nice to see some jumps racing filling the cards again, as the autumn closes in them its good to get back to some decent races.....

In Singapore the latest PR machines are at full pelt.  Will Alonso go to McLaren/Mercedes/Force India/ANO.  I would be surprised,  he needs to settle down, and Ferrari need to speed up their R&D and support their drivers with some decent investment. There may some value in laying Vettell today, at 1.36 on a tight street circuit, it may be worth risking a fiver.

Saturday's trades, bets and lays

Quick post, just back in the country and having to disappear again for a couple of days first thing in the morning, hence the enlarged list of football selections, some for tomorrow.

The season really kicks on after this week end, with the international break over and the transfer market closed for a few months. Watch out for some of the trades, they should be quite close in some aspects. watch it for some of the going changing as well, don't expect much today, but tomorrow could just be a day for watch and study.

Good Luck whatever you do.
