Just a quick note today, some good weather that should not be missed.  Anybody else going to get quickly tired of seeing the Mobot?  not me I think its great that new superstars/heroes have come to the fore, something of true value and hard work for kids to aspire too.  In my view they have shown the overpaid, soft centred footballers not only how to behave, but also the hard work, commitment and dedication that is needed to succeed. ts not about crying because you couldn't get another £5k a week, or because a big ugly defender stood in your way!! The Olympics may have had a bigger impact than some people may have realised.

Just heard as well that Sid Wadell sadly passed away last night, RIP pal, a very distinctive voice who made throwing bits of metal at a board exciting, will be missed.

Hit the bar several times yesterday with the horses, Taajub particularly disappointing, but stake+ recovered due to insurance placed in running,  and the football was a bit of a turn up for the books, but we had it covered, and the timing of the goals allowed enough other action to take place to enable a good enough green to be had.

Today sees a quieter day all round, racing is not the best quality and the football is still not in full flow. Watch the ground at the Curragh a bit of rain around there this morning. Charity shield will be the usual bore fest I would imagine? (Cue loads of goals!!) The first Edinburgh derby kicks off a 1230, struggling to see past Hearts winning this, a lot of Hibs fans very despondent at the moment and would be relived to come away with a2-0 defeat.
