Where's the weekend going.... aargh soon be Monday and back to the rat race again!! The horses didn't really do me much good with the back selections running like bloody donkeys on Blackpool beach. Thankfully the lays bailed me out and ensured I kept my head above the water.
An enjoyable days/evenings tennis, and some nice greens to be had along the way. Impressed with Ms Williams against Ms Zheng, the attitude and fight she showed could be championship winning material. But what can you say about Ms Shvedova, winning that 'golden set', she went on to win 24 straight points without a response. As forecast Rosol had his moment of glory and is now on his way home. The Only bit of tennis to go against me was Mardy Fish, should have gone for the experience over the upcoming talented Goffin, but hey green overall again
What about that Brit Andy Murray, please tell me how that boy manages to get more injuries than an SA forward up against the All Blacks. He struggled and whimpered and I honestly thought be was expecting somebody to give him the game on a plate. Once he started imposing himself he came through OK, but his performance shouldn't have bothered the remaining top seeds.
Despite the heavy ground Camelot showed his class and will now go for the St Leger, can anything stop him, I'll be surprised. Good to hear Paul Hanagan is up and about after that bit of a shooing he got in the first at Newmarket.
Anyhow, what we got going on today? Well there is the small matter of the Euro 2012 finals. I've been on Italy since the start and I see no reason to change my mind now, their direct method of play and the physical presence of Super Mario may just unnerve the Spaniards. Will Italy stay with 4 at the back or will they go with the 3 they started the tournament with? Interesting quote from the Spanish coach that he is going to go with 3 attackers, OK but whom? Key midfield battle will be between Pirlo and Xavi, both have a great vision and a great pass and both will be looking to bow out with heads held high, should be interesting.
Going to enjoy the game, and may just trade off some of my potential Italian winnings on the way.
Also today see's the 2nd ODI Eng v Aust, England one game up already but the bookies seem to be favouring the Aussies for this one. Looks like the weather will hold out, so it's a quick easy trade of laying both teams at 1.6, and watching how it goes.
Couple of decent looking races over the water, bt again conditions could lead to some late NRs, good to see some jumps back as well.
In the tennis it a rest day, so if the weather doesn't improve my prep for next seasons football may just get under way. But there is also next weeks British Grand Prix and the up coming Open golf to look at as well, or I may just do some cooking.....
Good Luck
