Monday's Tips & Trades

Missed out yesterday due to some IT issues, so literally flying by the seat of my pants until things get fixed this week, hopefully. Also off for a couple of days so will try to post more often

Congratulations to Gareth Bale on winning Player of the Year & Young Player of the Year, some achievement, probably put another few million on his price tag.  Looks like a can of worms has been disturbed down in Newmarket with another trainer possibly caught out, how many to follow?  British Lions squad announced tomorrow morning, interested to see who gets the converted outside half position,  along with captaincy  Anybody expecting a couple of surprises from Gatland? Personally I think a few of the Welsh boys will be disappointed, anyway lets wait until tomorrow..

Some nice summer jumps racing underway, but watch out for the NRs coming out and messing up the cards, evening meetings also underway  so some additional trading opportunities available. Have a small trade on the snooker today, with a view to negating the red on O'Sullivan as the week progresses.

Tonight's match at Villa could mean safety for one these clubs, personally I couldn't be bothered if either went down, but there must be some squeaky bums on Tyneside following Liverpool's battering of Newcastle on Saturday. Also well done to my home town team, Newport County, who have made it through to the play off final for entry to the football league, up against an old foe, Wrexham, great day forecast!!  I see Bet 365 also have one of their offers on for tomorrow nights game so will have a look later how to maximise it. Saturday's Tips & Trades

Football making the headlines this week, closely followed by the shame brought on the Godolphin yard. First up I believe Suarez has been hard done by, why should he suffer when some bloke in a blue shirt sticks his arm in his mouth!!! (only joking, honest..) I do believe he should have been punished, but I believe Rodgers is correct that the player and not the offence has been punished, and couple that with the influence of Downing Street then the guy never stood a chance, and I fear that he will leave these shores and the British game will be worse off.  I also found it interesting that Suarez 's state of mind has been alluded to on several occasions by those closest to him, is it a case of  the 'Madness in great ones must not go unwatched' & politicians should not get involved in sport, another bloody good reason I will not be voting for the snake oil salesmen in power at the moment!!

i have the pleasure of travelling to the Dubai and surrounding areas on many occasion, and a prouder set of people you will have trouble meeting, so this weeks revelations about the drugging of horses at ne of the Godolphin yards would have cut to the core. I find it interesting that the investigation was sparked by a whistle blower and not by random testing. It does make you think how much more is going on?  I sense a rather large shake up by Sheikh Mohammed, a very angry and embarrassed man at the moment. The worry for the British horseracng fraternity must be if he withdraws/closes down his operations, this man ploughs millions in to the UK horse racing scene, and in some areas he is viewed as integral in keeping it afloat.

Congrats to Man Utd (gosh that hurt saying that!!) on winning the title, not the best of Premiership titles in my view, but they won not so much for their excellence more to do with a poorer opposition I think. Today sees some of the minor places played out, with the relegation battles tomorrow.  My local team Dunfermline are making a good fist f things since going into administration, got off my ass last week and went and watched them, impressed with the effort and fight shown by the youngsters, also great to see the local community rallying around and supporting.  They could still do with a large cash injection so if anybody wants to part with some spare cash just let me know!!

Couple of horses to keep any eye on today, at Ripon & Leicester with Manyriverstocross and Crew Cut, there is also a bit of tennis about for trading opportunities a long with some IPL cricket.  There seems to be a lot of NR's already this morning so just keep your wits about you with the cards.
