Sunday's Sports Tips and Trades

A not bad day yesterday, with the EW doubles and the Villa trade getting us out of jail.  Some fighting results from some of the struggling premiership teams, but I am sorry I cannot see QPR surviving, Reading were kept alive by their keeper, and Arsenal got away with what could only be called a dodgy penalty. In the Championship Cardiff moved to within one point of automatic promotion.  In Div 1 it is quite possible that not only were Bury relegated, but it could also be costly in terms of their long term survival.  Some ugly scenes at Wembley, and I personally hope that the authorities hammer the individuals and the team involved  hit them where it hurts.

Good result for my local team yesterday, with the youngsters doing well, I may even get off my fat arse next week and go and watch what is a very important game  for them. Watching my fat fingers today, incorrectly set an automation rule yesterday, and it bloody cost me, oh well live & learn!!

A lot of debate over the Tiger Woods incident, should be have walked or been disqualified?  Personally I think he should have, but you have got to think how much influence the sponsors had? I don't mind an interpretation of the the grey areas of the rules, but outright cheating has no place.

Cracking Chinese GP earlier this morning, with a classy Alonso win, some nice driving from Vettel and Hamilton, and a weekend that i think Mark Webber would want to forget quickly, Lotus seem to be surprising a few people as well. Some decent green made in the early stages, definitely helped by the various strategies of the teams. Onwards to Bahrain next week.

Today see Tramore cancelled, more suitable for synchronised swimming that racing by all accounts. Some run of the mill jumps racing around the country and some youngsters racing at Leopardstown.  Be careful of the weather conditions over in Ireland and at Ffos Las.  Couple of interesting ones to keep an eye on: military Bowl at Leopardstown and Siberian Tiger at Ffos Las.

Football today sees Chelsea v Man City in the FA Cup Semi Final.  Have a edging for Chelsea, Rafa seems to have been banking his team to this once the league got out of sight. And what about the Tyneside derby, would like to see the Magpies get a result, it will also be a lot of peoples view of the impact of the new management set up at Sunderland. Fully expect Fergies team to put Stoke to the sword today, and a strong team playing. Would also like to see Jackie McNamara get one over on Celtic in the Scottish Cup as well, and would be very surprised to see a 0-0.

Another couple of games in the cricket, which again flags up a few trading opportunities. may look at laying Tiger Woods again, and also Snedeker
